PHNIX Receives Industry’s First EU CRA Compliance Certificates from SGS for Its AI Heat Pumps

Guangzhou, September 2026 — PHNIX has received multiple EU Cyber Resilience Act compliance certificates from SGS, marking an industry-first CRA compliance milestone covering overseas heating and pool heat pump product lines.

 

The achievement simultaneously covers two of PHNIX’s portfolios: AI residential heat pumps and AI pool heat pumps. Assessed by SGS under its CRA compliance framework for intelligent heat pump equipment, the project provides independent evidence of PHNIX’s progress in bringing cybersecurity into the development of smarter, more connected products for Europe.

 

At the certification ceremony held at PHNIX, the certificates were formally presented by Anson Luo, SGS director responsible for cybersecurity and smart appliance services in South China. PHNIX CEO Andrew Zong attended on behalf of the company. The senior-level participation from both sides reflected the strategic importance of cybersecurity readiness as intelligent heat pumps become increasingly connected.

Why this matters for AI heat pumps

Modern heat pumps are no longer standalone appliances. Cloud connectivity, remote monitoring, intelligent scheduling and software or firmware updates can improve energy management and service, but they also create digital touchpoints that must be protected.

 

The EU Cyber Resilience Act—Regulation (EU) 2024/2847—establishes cybersecurity requirements for “products with digital elements”. It addresses security throughout the product lifecycle, including design, development, production, maintenance, vulnerability handling and security updates. The regulation entered into force on 10 December 2024; its reporting obligations apply from 11 September 2026, while its main provisions apply from 11 December 2027.

 

For manufacturers and European partners, this means that the next stage of AI heat pump development is not only about efficiency and intelligence. It is also about building cybersecurity into the product roadmap from the outset.


A continuous path from AI innovation to cybersecurity readiness

Receiving CRA certificate is not an isolated achievement. It builds on a technology and third-party verification roadmap that PHNIX began advancing in 2025.

During 2025, PHNIX introduced its industry-first AI heat pump technology portfolio, including AI Full Inverter, AI Smart Grid and AI PV Drive. These technologies expanded the role of intelligence in heat pump operation, energy scheduling and coordination with renewable energy systems.

 

In April 2025, PHNIX announced that its self-developed IoT communication modules had received the heat pump industry’s first EN 18031 cybersecurity certificate from TÜV SÜD, supporting compliance with the cybersecurity requirements of the EU Radio Equipment Directive. In September, PHNIX’s pool heat pumps received TÜV SÜD’s first Intelligent Appliance Adaptive Optimization certification, providing third-party validation of its AI-powered optimisation capabilities.

 

Rather than isolated achievements, these milestones demonstrate PHNIX’s consistent, long-term commitment to advancing AI innovation and cybersecurity together: from AI-powered performance and connected functionality, through RED-aligned communication security, to broader CRA cybersecurity readiness across the product lifecycle. The latest SGS-assessed achievement carries this direction forward across both PHNIX residential heating & cooling and pool heat pump portfolios.

 

What this milestone means for European partners

For European importers, distributors and project partners, named standards and independent assessments provide a more concrete basis for evaluating smart heat pump products. They help partners look beyond feature claims and consider how connectivity, software, updates and vulnerability management are addressed over time.

 

The two-product-line coverage also demonstrates a consistent direction across PHNIX’s portfolio. Cybersecurity is being developed alongside AI control, energy efficiency and connected services rather than treated as a separate, last-minute addition.

 

This provides stronger evidence of PHNIX’s preparation for evolving EU requirements and supports more informed product and partnership planning.
